Conifer’s transformation into a “tombstone” service that was scheduled to happen in June 2026, is delayed until the end of the year.

The reason is a new opportunity to move all collection data out of Amazon S3 storage to another, less costly provider. Without compromosing quality of access, the lower cost will make it easier for Rhizome to stand by the commitment to keep the data online as long as Rhizome remains in business.
